  Description:  Gamma oryzanol is a naturally occurring mixture of plant chemicals called sterols and ferulic acid esters. It is a mixture of substances derived from rice bran oil, including sterols and ferulic acid, called Cycloartanyl Ferulate or Triterpene alcohol ferulate. It is a potent membrane antioxidant in animals and humans. Gamma oryzanol has also been advocated as a treatment for menopausal symptoms.
  Gamma-oryzanol is extracted from rice bran oil and has a wide spectrum of biological activities; in particular, it has antioxidant properties and is often used in cosmetic formulations as a sunscreen. It may have beneficial effects on cholesterol.
